TAMPA — You’ll need to drive a different route through Tampa International Airport this holiday travel season — one designed to fix traffic jams blamed on construction and growing business. The new traffic pattern is expected to remain in effect through spring. Last week, with only one exit lane open to accommodate construction of an overhead taxiway, traffic backed up so far on the airport’s George J. Bean Parkway that it was taking up to 45 minutes for traffic to get past it. With the fix in place, the travel time has been cut to less than five minutes, said airport spokesman Danny Valentine.
